Names appearing in the original books of Rochester death records were transcribed for this index. These ledger books contain only deaths occurring within the city limits of Rochester from 1871-1940. Many of the early records are faded and in almost illegible handwriting. Every attempt was made to confirm the correct spelling using additional references.
